For
God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power,
of love and of self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:7
Although this verse is talking directly about our spiritual life
and our power to share our knowledge of the love of Jesus with
others, this verse can also be translated onto the football field.
As it says in 1Corinthians 6:19-20,
"Do you not
know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in
you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you
were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
"
Honoring God with your body means to take care of
it and use it to the best of your ability to honor Christ. Lets get to workin' out! Get healthier, get stronger and play
the football position assigned to you the best you can. The very
best of your abilities! Lets use our talents to bring this team
together and share the love of Christ with each other, our opponents and our fans. For those of you reading this who
do not play football, there are plenty of other ways to use your
physical talents for Jesus.
You just gotta be willing and give it your all!
May
Christ be evident in ya'lls lives this week.
